Reflections (in English)

look how cute the little boy in the tie is!!!!!
As is noted in a number of places on this blog, learning Japanese is hard! So why am I taking this class? Good question! Well, I think learning languages is a cool thing. And I have a lot of Japanese family, so it would be nice to be able to communicate with them. I also traveled to Japan two years ago and would like to go back (ideally with some more Japanese than I had before!).

So far, I'm looking forward to being able to express myself a little better in Japanese and have more complex conversations with people. Reading is especially difficult for me, because I am still slow at reading the characters. Speaking can also be difficult because of the different grammatical structures (from English).

But hopefully I will continue improving!

  1. こんいちわ、Josephーさん!Very cool blog you have! I like your picture - is that your family? I went to Japan for the first time myself in January. It was so cool and the food was sooo good!! I can't wait to go back.

    1. ありがとございます!Yes that is my family! We had a big lunch with most of my Japanese cousins when we were in Toyko -- they took us to a Chinese restaurant, which we thought was odd (we wanted Japanese food!!!)
